It was through the discovery of the Japanese technique of Ito Thermie, 25 years ago, that I had the chance to meet Kohrogi Sensei in France and then in Japan. When Kohrogi Sensei agreed to come to Europe,

I had the chance to organize Advanced Ito Thermie courses for him followed by “Natsukashi” retreats in order to allow practitioners and myself to receive his teaching.
Each of his sessions that we were able to observe or receive was astonishing in freedom, precision, an intense transmission of heat, speed and constantly connected with a deep meditative state.

All these years spent with Kohrogi Sensei have made me understand the close link between Ito Thermie and meditation, presence during a treatment session and the importance of the awareness of being in our hara. But beyond the technique, Kohrogi Sensei allowed us to discover the change in the face of our patient or our partner, which he called “Natsukashi”, “Coming back home” or returning to our original nature.

Over the years, its meditative transmission has brought me very deep within myself, through simple exercises with sound, touch or through the possibility of experiencing ancient Mu meditations. I remember many magical moments where time seemed to stand still, or just the sound of the gong transported us to another place where “past, present, future” were intertwined until we felt this gratitude towards life for just being totally « here and now ».

Being in the presence of Kohrogi Sensei is at the same time very simple, like a friend you have met again and whom you have not seen for a long time, but it is also a state of grace, a change of inner vision, a deep understanding of the meaning of life, so important in the times we are currently going through.

What I understood is that whatever life brings us, whatever we do, whatever we perceive, we always come back to ourselves, to the center of ourselves. And in this center is “Natsukashi”. I’ve been studying Ito Thermie with Kohrogi-sensei every month since 2019.
I’ve been qualified in Ito Thermie in 2004 and continuing treatment since then but the treatment time was getting longer and longer, and I was wondering if this was enough. I was wondering if this was the right way to go. At that time I’ve met Kohrogi sensei.

I continued to have interactive sessions with him and make the treatment time short and now I am able to enjoy the treatment very easily.

Ito Thermie

I have been working with my students and clients in several healing modalities with origins from ancient India, China and Russia for 20 years. And now for the first time I was introduced to Ito Thermie in the workshops with Roshani and Korogi sensei in Osaka, Japan, this year. I find this technique very exciting because it packs so many layers of treatment, working with the balance of yin and yang energy, tuning up the immune system of the physical body, clearing up the etheric field and also includes aromatherapy based on a number of potent herbs included in the instrument. I experienced first hand quick and efficient healing results during the workshop myself as well. I intend to continue developing myself in this technique going forward.

Natsukashi

Natsukashi retreat is a very important component for any person’s spiritual development and an absolutely necessary way of tuning for anyone working in the healing arts field. It teaches a deep connection with the higher self and the ocean of universal energy in a very calm and nurturing way. Korogi sensei’s style is to allow the students to remove the masks and find the “true face”, which easily connects us with everything alive, without going through a burning catharsis, in a soft and supported way.

I go back to Natsukashi again and again. For me the group is simply a celebration of Mystery. I don’t know what will happen; I don’t know what breakthroughs will occur (and they do.) Each time is very different from every other time. In the simplicity of the process, I go on coming home to myself again, again, again – in, somehow, a vertical way – as if I arrive at myself here, and again here, and again here.

I come because I love Kohrogi-sensei, whom I’ve known since the mid-90’s; I come because in the room with him, love is; I come because of poetry – a thing that arrives by itself sometimes without my asking or interfering. I come because I enjoy the interactions with people, always in some beautiful location, where we can sit outside and enjoy good food. I come because whatever is cooking with me is going to find a way to show itself and clarify itself – sometimes with tears or laughter.

I don’t know what the Original Face is, but allowing the question to be there, without exactly bothering the question – is enough; the whole room is open to the question, to whatever grace wants to show itself to our hearts, to our light. Whatever light wants to meet us.

I go because it feels like family – a family of the heart, and of an endless possibility. And yet, in this family I get to be totally myself. Otherwise I would not go!

Kohrogi-sensei is unconditional, egalitarian, surprising, friendly, magical, and so alive his face dances with the most amazing variety of expressions. His voice is deep and beautiful, his humour alight – and so I return to Natsukashi, again, again.
